Seven Suppers In The Gospel Of Luke

Seven Suppers In The Gospel Of Luke:

On seven occasions in the Gospel of Luke, Jesus was the dinner guest at the table of others:

1) Matthew/Levi - Luke 5:29 (Matthew 9:10; Mark 2:15)

2) Simon the Pharisee - Luke 7:36

3) Martha - Luke 10:38

4) A Pharisee - Luke 11:37

5) A chief Pharisee - Luke 14:1

6) Zacchaeus - Luke 19:5-6

7) The Last Supper - Luke 22:14-15 (Matthew 26:20; Mark 14:17-18; John 13:1-2)

Two of these are mentioned in the other Gospels, but it is interesting that the Gospel of Luke contains all seven of them. There is also one more supper mentioned in the Gospel, and that is:

He was also the guest of honour at Lazarus’ house - John 12:1-2
