Sevenfold Blessings When We Obey The Lord

Sevenfold Blessings When We Obey The Lord: Proverbs 3:1-10 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 1) For length of days, and long life, 2) and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 3) So shalt thou find favour  4) and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, 5) and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 6) It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 7) So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. 14 Individuals Healed By Jesus In The Gospel Of Luke

14 Individuals Healed By Jesus In The Gospel Of Luke: 1) Devil-possessed man in the synagogue - Luke 4:33-35 2) Simon Peter’s mother-in-law - Luke 4:38-39 3) Leper - Luke 5:12-14 4) Man with palsy - Luke 5:18-25 5) Man with withered hand - Luke 6:6-10 6) Centurion’s servant - Luke 7:2-10 7) Devil-possessed Maniac of Gadara - Luke 8:26-35 8) Jairus’ daughter - Luke 8:41-42, 49-56 9) Woman with issue of blood - Luke 8:43-48 10) Devil-possessed son - Luke 9:38-42 11) Devil-possessed and dumb man - Luke 11:14 12) Woman with infirmity eighteen years - Luke 13:11-16 13) Samaritan leper - Luke 17:11-19 14) Blind man - Luke 18:35-43 * For clarification: When a multiple of a number is used, it has the same meaning as the original number. For example, seven means perfection, completion, and is God's stamp on His Word. A multiple of seven has the same meaning, sometimes heightening or magnifying it, but the same underlying meaning. So 14, 21, 70, 490, etc. all have the same symbolic meaning ...

10 People In The Bible Who Stated I Have Sinned - Part One

Almost 20 years ago (in April 2007), I did a word study on the phrase, I have sinned. There were 10 people throughout the Old and New Testaments that had made this statement as an admission of guilt. Another time it was declared as a statement about mankind in general. At the time (and in the margin of my Bible), I had written that there was 19 times that this statement was made. Recently, I realized I had missed two of the verses. That makes 21 times stated by 10 people - seven of these statements made by David himself, which I found very intriguing and interesting. For whatever reason, I only ever wrote up a study for the first three people and saved the rest as a draft. Now I want to finish the study with all 10 people. Here is part one, edited and slightly changed with king Saul added to make the first eight statements (out of the 21 total). The next one will be king David and his seven statements, then followed by the other five individuals. When I have the full study written I wi...

Seven Books That The Lord Has Written

Seven Books That The Lord Has Written: I believe the book of Job was the earliest book of the Bible ever written, approximately about 1800 BC, before Moses wrote the Pentateuch. It is interesting to read his desire for the Scriptures, for a written record, before there was ever one word penned (though, according to the Psalms 119:89, God's Word has already been recorded in Heaven from eternity - as hard as that may be to understand). Psalms 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Job 19:23-24 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever! Job 31:35-36 Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book. Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me. 1) The Book of the Lord, the Scriptures, the Word of God: Isaiah 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read : no one o...

Sevens Regarding Elijah And Elisha

Sevens Regarding Elijah And Elisha: I wanted to see if I could come up with 7 or 14 sevens associated with Elijah and Elisha. Praise the Lord, I did with God's guidance. Granted, a couple of them are only loosely connected - but here are 14 sevens for you. 1) Elijah performed 7 miracles Both of these first two points are listed separately. Please click on the link above for the account of the miracles of these two servants of the Lord. 2) Elisha performed 14 miracles 3) Elijah resurrects the widow’s son - first of seven individuals resurrected by men: Nine individuals were resurrected in the Bible (seven by men, two directly by God): A) Widow’s son, raised by Elijah - 1 Kings 17:21-22 B) Shunammite’s son, raised by Elisha - 2 Kings 4:34-35 C) A man, raised by touching Elisha’s bones - 2 Kings 13:21 D) 12 year old girl, raised by Jesus - Mark 5:41-42 E) Widow woman’s son, raised by Jesus - Luke 7:14-15 F) Lazarus, raised by Jesus - John 11:44-45 G) Jesus, raised by God the Father -...

The Miracles Of Elijah And Elisha, Compared With Jesus

The Miracles Of Elijah And Elisha, Compared With Jesus For years I have been intrigued by the statement that Elisha performed twice as many miracles as Elijah because a double portion of God’s Spirit was upon Him.  2 Kings 2:9-11 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. I wondered if that was true, but some of the lists that I found were contradictory. Time to dig in deeper today. I found 7 miracles performed by Elijah and 14 by Elisha. Some have counted ot...

Fire On The Altar And God's Glory Seen In The Tabernacle/Temple Seven Times

Fire On The Altar And God's Glory Seen In The Tabernacle/Temple Seven Times: There are seven times in the Bible altogether that fire came down from Heaven on the altar and/or the glory of God filled the temple/tabernacle: 1) Exodus 40:34-35  Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 2) Leviticus 9:24 And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces. 3) 1 Kings 8:10-11  And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD. 4) 1 Kings 18:38 Then the fire of th...

Sevenfold Divisions of 1 Corinthians 15

Sevenfold Divisions of 1 Corinthians 15: A) 1 Corinthians chapter 15 is clearly divided into seven themes: 1. The Gospel - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 2. Post-resurrection appearances of Jesus - 1 Corinthians 15:5-11 3. A sevenfold argument for the resurrection - 1 Corinthians 15:12-20, 29-34 4. Contrast between Adam and Christ - 1 Corinthians 15:21-23, 45-49 5. Jesus gives His kingdom to the Father - 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 6. Sevenfold differences between types of bodies - 1 Corinthians 15:35-44 7. The rapture - 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 B) A Sevenfold Argument For The Resurrection Of Christ . Please click on the above link to see this seven that has previously been posted on this blog. C) Seven types of bodies revealed in creation: 1 Corinthians 15:39-41 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is  1) one kind of flesh of men,  2) another flesh of beasts,  3) another of fishes,  4) and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory...

Jesus Christ Appeared As The Angel Of The Lord To Seven Individuals In The Old Testament

Jesus Christ Appeared As The Angel Of The Lord To Seven Individuals In The Old Testament: There are many places in the Bible where an angel of the Lord is mentioned, but only some of these are actually pre-incarnate appearances of the Lord Jesus Christ. The ones I have listed below are clearly God in view in each of the passages. We can tell this by the way this particular Angel interacts with God's people and what He does, as well as the people's responses to Him - they KNOW they have seen God face to face (inasmuch as He revealed Himself to them in the Old Testament) and are truly amazed that they are still alive. Truly, these are some of my all-time favourite Bible stories - true historical encounters of God meeting with His people and working in their lives. 1. Appeared to Hagar - Genesis 16:7-14; 21:17-19: Genesis 16:7-14 And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. And he said, Hagar, Sarai's m...

Seven Passages About The Crown Of Pride And The Crown Of Glory

Seven Passages About The Crown Of Pride And The Crown Of Glory: 1) Isaiah 28:1 Woe to the crown of pride , to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! 2) Isaiah 28:3 The crown of pride , the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet: Twice in this chapter, we see Ephraim (the northern ten tribes) boasting in drunkenness. This is what they lived for, what they took satisfaction in.  Many in our day are running after worldly pleasure, partying, feeding the flesh. But then a few verses later, we read: 3) Isaiah 28:5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory , and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,  The Lord is what the truly saved glory in, what they boast in - what they seek and lived for. Do you live for the things of the world or for the Lord. Do you take pride in sin and sinful things or glory in the Lord and you...

200 Sevens Listed So Far

200 Sevens Listed So Far On September 24th, a little over a month since this blog was started, we reached 200 sevens so far. There have been some really interesting ones, the majority of them ones I and my friends have found in the last couple of years. Some of them have been my favourites. What sevens got your attention or opened up the Scriptures to you? What ones were new to you - or to make it easier, what ones did you already know? What type of sevens intrigued you the most? Did you like the ones that portrayed seven individuals that were similar to each other in a certain way? Did you get blessed by the sevenfold promises or statements? Did you love the sevens about Jesus Christ and our life in Him? How about the sevens about the end times? A few neat ones, for sure. Let me know what ones caused you to dig in deeper into the Bible, grab a Concordance or open up a Bible program and start to search. Are there any that you disagree with or think I am missing a verse or passage on? I...
