Seven Times The Word Faileth Is Used In The Psalms

Seven Times The Word Faileth Is Used In The Psalms:

1) Psalm 31:10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

2) Psalm 38:10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

3) Psalm 40:12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

4) Psalm 71:9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

5) Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

6) Psalm 109:24 My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.

7) Psalm 143:7 Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

Man faileth. But God never fails. His power never fails - and He never fails His children.

Contrast with the following two passages:

Isaiah 40:25-26 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

Zephaniah 3:5 The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.

We can rejoice in God's faithfulness and His steadfast love toward us. He keeps His Word, His promises, and His children in the palms of His hands. We are kept by the power of God.
