Seven Times The Bible States King Manasseh Humbled Himself And Sought The Lord

Seven Times The Bible States King Manasseh Humbled Himself And Sought The Lord:

2 Chronicles 33:12-13

And when he was in affliction,

1) he besought the LORD his God,

2) and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,

3) And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom.

4) Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.

2 Chronicles 33:18-19

Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and

5) his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.

6) His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before

7) he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.

To me, this is one of the neatest passages in all of Scripture. Manasseh, the worst king in the Southern Kingdom, was still spared and saved by the Lord because he repented and humbled himself. God still saved him despite his background of sin and idolatry. His repentance was sincere, genuine, and eternal.

Notice the repeated phrases: He besought the LORD HIS God... Then Manasseh KNEW that the LORD He was God... his prayer unto HIS God. He was saved. God is no respector of persons. If a wicked sinner will turn (ie. repent, turn in his heart) from his sin to the Lord God, God WILL saved him. He has promised - and God ALWAYS keep His Word!
